About Us

The idea for SkinnyOffice was born in Chelsea, Manhattan, in the fall of 2011 after landing a first job and realizing the realities of working 9 to 5, snacking all day, and feeling guilty about the extra calories. What started off as a chain email between friends about the snacks co-workers were consuming, grew into SkinnyOffice–a guide to snacks and drinks to mindlessly devour while plugging numbers into Excel, drafting contracts, or sulking in wheelie chairs wondering when it will be 5 o’clock.

But within months a wider and more comprehensive dialogue began to emerge. The same women who were anxious to read about healthy snacks were eager to read about a whole range of office-talk subjects. It became clear that there was a need for a more complete guide for women at the office; a guide on not only the snacks we eat but on relationships, clothing, pets, travel, dealing with bosses and co-workers, happy hours and much more. And so the new SkinnyOffice was born—the site to get the ‘skinny’ on topics that women talk about at the office.

  1. This blog is such a great idea! Thanks for keeping me up-to-date on skinny snacks.

  2. I just moved to a new office location and asked the guy sitting next to me a good place in the area to grab a “healthy” lunch. He recommended getting a salad at Chipotle.

I’m sad to report that I found this amazing blog 445 calories too late (1 Chicken Burrito Bowl at Chipotle).

  3. I like your SkinnyClaw

  4. I am sitting at my office desk eating a snack as I read this (Pria double chocolate cookie bar)! Great idea, I NEED snacks to get my through the day! Looking forward to reading your blog 🙂
